Cross-border Regional Workshop ”Modelling of regional toxic pollution in Black Sea Basin”

 

    In the frame of BSB27 Monitox project, Partner 4 – Institute of Geology and Seismology, Chisinau, organized in the period 17th÷18th November 2020 the Cross-border Regional Workshop ”Modelling of regional toxic pollution in Black Sea Basin”.

The following topics were discussed in the frame of the regional workshop:

  • Mapping of contaminated sites for environmental risk assessment;
  • Modelling the migration of toxicants in aquatic ecosystems;
  • Studies of the dynamics of hazardous substances levels in surface waters;
  • Using of GIS technology for the mapping of toxic substances concentration and their fate in the environment.


In conjunction with the workshop, it was organized the expert training session “GIS/Q-GIS technology; case studies and applications“.

    The events are related to the project results PR4) Enhanced knowledge and expertise linked with the monitoring of toxic compounds to be applied in the process of the training of professionals from the field and future specialists in the Black Sea Basin & PR5) Improved public availability of environmental information in the Black Sea Basin and stronger consciousness of different target groups about the health effects of environmental toxic pollutants.
